Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley left the team Wednesday for personal reasons and there is no timetable for his return, manager Joe Girardi said.

The Phillies placed their former first-round pick on the restricted list and called up former No. 1 pick Mickey Moniak.

Girardi, who said he learned of Haseley’s decision Wednesday, would not divulge the reasons behind the 25-year-old’s sudden absence.

“I spoke with Adam (on the phone). We had a nice talk today and I think we all agreed that this was probably the best and we’ll move forward,” Girardi said. “It’s personal reasons. And we have no timetable. We’re all thinking about Adam.”

Haseley was off to a slow start, hitting just .190 with two runs scored in 21 at-bats. He hit .278 in 40 games last season for the Phils.

Haseley was taken No. 8 overall in the 2017 MLB amateur draft.

March is here and with it comes brackets. We all love filling out brackets of some sort, whether that sort be the college basketball tournament, your favorite Disney movie, whatever. It’s fun moving those things along the lines and seeing who might beat who.

Twitter

March also marks the time when people start coming out of their shells from a long winter’s nap and begin mingling with other people in the great outdoors. Of course the pandemic has mostly scuttled the way we normally do this, but as more and more people are vaccinated, the “normal way” of doing it will soon come back and we can get back to what we love doing most - tweeting about the Phillies in a uniquely Philadelphian way.

Twitter is a hellscape of arguments, memes and snarky retorts to someone we disagree with. It’s also a landscape where artists of a certain variety can show their work in 180 characters or less. Picasso used paint, Michelangelo used marble, but Justin Klugh - Justin Klugh uses his thumbs.

Or I assume he uses his thumbs. He might be one of those weirdos that tweets from a computer. Show off.

Why are we singling out Justin? No it’s not because he is an alumnus of The Good Phight. It’s because he has shown his hand as rather avid wordsmith not only with a keyboard, but also with the Twitter. He has crafted many, many memorable tweets about our beloved Phillies and it is with him in mind, along with countless others that we are going to bring you:

...or as Phrozen calls it, A Five Minute Tour of a Decade of Laughing at Sadness.

The biggest issue here is that, well, this.

this would be a lot easier if 90% of all old Phillies bloggers/tweeters accounts have been deleted or banned smdh

We also have the issue of the infamous reporter that famously struggles with spelling names correctly the first time around. Unfortunately, in order to not pick on him too much, we only included one of his tweets and it really isn’t his tweet. It’s the quote tweet that made the original one famous.

Click here to view all of the weird and wonderful tweets that have been concocted over time. The tweets are ranked as best I can, but don’t be offended. I mostly ranked by just putting in the first one I saw.

So, head to The Good Phight’s Twitter page as often as you can and vote here, where we will post voting chances and results. The winner of each will move on to battle another where we will crown the greatest Phillies tweet of all time. Well, as close as we can get.
