This award was created to memorialize Zeke’s contribution to the Rocky Mountain Nordic skiing community. Both of these skiers have demonstrated leadership and excellence and exemplify the awards criteria of having a positive attitude, being inspirational, demonstrating great sportsmanship, are great teammates, and have tremendous love and commitment for cross country skiing.
RMN received the following note from Sherri Steeves, Zeke’s wife:
“Thank you for sharing these nominations for this year’s recipients of the Jon “Zeke” Zdechlik Memorial award. It is so inspiring to read the coaches’ summaries of these extraordinary young people. I am in awe of these athletes and the coaches who make such a difference in the lives of youth. Zeke would be very humbled by the sportsmanship, spirit, and commitment demonstrated by these individuals. The Rocky Mountain Nordic skiing community is such a foundational experience for promoting leadership, character, and community. We are very grateful to the collective organization for all of your contributions to the development of youth and honoring Zeke. Congratulations to Wiley Corra and Elsa Perkins as incredibly deserving recipients of this year’s award.”
Sincerely,
Sherri Steeves and the Zdechlik Family
In addition to Elsa and Wiley, Rocky Mountain Nordic received an incredible list of nominees this year including Taiga Moore, Kate Oldham, and Sarah Bivens. It speaks volumes about these five individuals that each of them received a vote from one or more RMN club to be this year’s recipient.
Wiley and Elsa were both honored to be this year’s recipients, here they are in their own words:

Unfortunately, RMN is unable to recognize the achievements of the individuals in a group setting this year. This award is especially poignant under the current circumstances, and we wish to honor the nominees and recipients for their leadership in a year with more challenges than usual. Each has a great story and through their time in RMN has made their mark. Please see the link to below to read each of their nominations.

Sun Title offers new methods for those looking to close on their property while maintaining social distancing.
In the past, a notary signing agent was legally required to physically witness the signing of attested closing documents, the last step to purchasing a property. This was to prevent identity fraud on behalf of the buyer and seller. Since 2018, Remote Online Notarizations (RON) have been available to obtain electronic signatures, but the process was complicated and cumbersome. Adding onto this concept, Sun Title Agency has created Remote Mobile Notarization (RMN) to offer clients safe options to obtain signatures quickly and efficiently while maintaining social distancing.
In order to use our Remote Title® or Mobile Closing® services, a buyer or seller simply needs to contact their Escrow officer.
Sun Title offers two versions of RMN, Traditional and Enhanced. During a Traditional RMN, the majority of closing documents can be signed during the virtual meeting with sellers and Sun Title experts. Only a few of the documents require that a notary be physically present. To accomplish this, the notary will meet the party at a convenient and safe location for a final signature where documents can be signed and exchanged in less than three minutes, keeping a safe distance. The notary will then take and finalize the documents.
The Enhanced RMNs are similar to the Traditional method with even less physical contact. After documents have been received by mail, the entire signing process occurs over a secure video session with the notary and Sun Title experts. The papers are then sent back and processed through Sun Title.

Here is how RMN works:
Step 1: Customer Receives Paper Closing Package
A complete paper closing package will be sent to the customer. For an Enhanced RMN, the package will include a prepaid FedEx return envelope, along with directions to the nearest FedEx drop box. In a Traditional RMN, the package will be picked-up by a notary (see Step 2).
Step 2: Remote Mobile Signing Takes Place
A notary will present the closing documents to the buyer/borrower or seller during a live and recorded secure webinar session. All transaction participants will be invited to participate in this mobile signing session to create a highly engaged experience. During the session, the signers will confirm their identity.
During an Enhanced RMN (which is allowed until the expiration of the Governor’s Order), all of the documents are signed by the signers. When complete, the documents will be placed in a FedEx envelope, together with any other documents or funds related to the closing and sent back to Sun Title.
During a Traditional RMN (which can continue after the expiration of the Governor’s Order), the signers will sign all but a couple of the documents during the video call.

Step 3: The Closing Package is Returned/Exchanged
In an Enhanced RMN, all of the signed documents are placed in a FedEx envelope (with a prepaid return label) and the signers deposit the FedEx envelope into a FedEx box for shipment back to Sun Title. When the package is received back at Sun Title, the notary will notarize all applicable signatures.
In a Traditional RMN, a notary will arrive at a time and location convenient for the signers and they will sign the last couple of documents in the presence of the notary (but respecting social distancing) and collect any funds or additional documents required for the closing. In less than three minutes, and with no back and forth paperwork, our experienced notary will gather everything needed for the closing. The notary will notarize the documents and bring them back to our office.
Our Remote Mobile Notarization provides the following benefits:
- Safe & Convenient – Promote social distancing with no physical contact.
- Highly Engaging Experience – Professionals involved in the closing will be able to participate each step of the way.
- Compliant – Full compliance with the Michigan Notary Public Act, the Governor’s new Order, all county recording requirements, and existing laws and regulations.
- No Change in Process – No changes are needed to lender or real estate processes or closing procedures.
- Quickly Close & Fund – We will gather documents and signatures needed to quickly close and fund the transaction.

In addition to Remote Title® or Mobile Closing®, Sun Title still offers traditional closings for those people who may not have the necessary technology for RMNs. As an essential business, their office is still open for clients with proper distance and CDC measures in place. Additionally, in-person meetings can provide assistance to those in need of it.
